Question Kids Ask: Why do we need to read the Bible?

Children have a knack of asking great questions. When you start to introduce him to something new like the Bible he will soon ask the big question: "Why do we need to read the Bible?"

Importance of Bible

The Bible is the most important book in the world. It is the Word of God, which communicates life to us. The message that comes from the book is the message of God, because he is the author. Chosen people wrote down what God is thinking, through the Holy Spirit they manage to speak on behalf of God. It teaches us the TRUTH and speaks to people's hearts in every time and place. It tells the story of humankind and the covenant of God with his people. It is important to know and understand that Christ is the center of the Bible - he died on the cross so mankind (every man, woman, boy and girl) could be forgiven from sin.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."

2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

To Parents: Why we should read it?

Books have introduced and taught you many things - different places, cultures, information, languages, practices and more. We bet you enjoy reading comics, graphic novels or animated presentations; likewise, children appreciate and remember better through pictures and colorful visuals. While the Bible is filled with stories that can be used for teaching values and character to your children, the language and concepts may be too heavy for them to grasp. But by storytelling with the help of storybooks - your child will be keen to listen, will most likely to ask questions and will get motivated to read.
